THE SNOW WON"T STOP US!! Hope you will come out and support us on this snowy night - the kids worked so hard!

The Jim Royle Drum Studio will perform an Ireland Tour Benefit Concert on March 20, 2015 at 7:30pm.

The studio’s “A” Ensemble will be performing to help pay for a fellow member’s opportunity to go to Ireland. As the first student from Jim Royle’s Student Scholarship Program to make the top ensemble, this trip will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for a talented Bridgeport student who plans to continue his musical studies at college next year.

Tickets are a $10 donation at the door. If you can't make it, please consider sending us a donation to: Jim Royle at Jim Royle Drum Studio, 1548 Wood Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604

In April, the Jim Royle Drum Studio A Team will be performing at the Royal Irish Academy of Music for three nights as part of a Percussion Festival. The ensemble will be presenting a masterclass on steel pan, as well as integrating steel pan with traditional percussion ensemble instruments.  Richard O'Donnell, percussion director will be hosting. New York Philharmonic's Christopher Lamb will also be performing and presenting at the festival in Ireland.

The A Team is excited to perform two world premiers: Look Around You by former A Teamer Ryan Fedak, and In Ershia by Brian Ente, the studio's assistant director. Assistant Director, Bryan Garbe will be performing with the ensemble. Special guest bassist Mark Mobilio from Middlebury CT will be performing with us in both concerts in CT and Ireland.

Members of the Ensemble include: Charlie Bartlett (Fairfield), Devon Debalsi (Westport), Jose Falcon (Bridgeport), Sonia Gandhi (Darien), Nate Gibson (Trumbull), Davy Hawthorne (Fairfield), Brett Johnson (Easton), Braden Macchia (Fairfield), Ryan Rumsey (Fairfield), and Logan Walsh (Fairfield).

Jim Royle and his staff at the Jim Royle Drum Studio are well known for turning out many remarkable performers and collegiate music majors in percussion for over 20 years. High School students come from Bridgeport, Fairfield, Westport, Darien and many other surrounding towns to participate in the studio's five percussion ensembles that perform regularly in venues such as the Percussive Arts Society International Convention and the PAS CT Chapter events, Steel Pan Festivals from Maine to Trinidad, as well as many local venues. The studio's top ensemble that is performing on March 20th is a by audition only group that travels, performs, and competes nationally and internationally including such venues as the Teatro Sociale di Soresina in Soncino Italy, the Sforzata and Laventille Pan Yards in Trinidad and Tobago, the International School in Beijing, 9 Beats Music Academy in Tianjin China, and the Royal Academy of Music in London England.

The Jim Royle Drum Studio is a collective of teachers, performers, and composers that also provides the opportunity for many low-income, urban youth from the Bridgeport/Fairfield area to learn to play the full range of percussive instruments, study all styles of music, be mentored by top performing students, and perform in many public performances at no cost.

Tickets are a $10 donation at the door.
